Frequently Asked Questions regarding FMLA:
 
  • Do you need to take more than 5 days off of work for your own medical condition or a family member's medical condition?
If YES, you need to contact HR to request FMLA to protect your job while you are on leave.
 
  • How do I know if I qualify? 
If you have not worked for MVISD for at least one year, then you do not qualify for job protected leave. Other eligibility requirements will be discussed once you initiate a request 30 days prior to your leave.
 
  • How do I request FMLA?
Email [email protected] 30 days prior to the start of your leave.
 
  • Is FMLA paid leave?
FMLA is NOT paid leave, it is only job protection. (Available local/state days or disability insurance provide pay to employees.)
