Medina Valley ISD, in accordance with the House Bill 3 High-Quality Prekindergarten guidelines, created a High-Quality Prekindergarten Family Engagement Plan to promote partnership between our school, families, and community to ensure successful outcomes for our youngest learners in prekindergarten programs. Collaboratively, we all share the responsibility to encourage and support initiatives, activities, and practices that enhance the success of student learning and achievement. |

#1 Facilitate Family-to- Family Support |
MVISD will host thoughtfully planned family events designed to bring families together and foster meaningful connections. Through district- and campus-led activities, families will have safe, supportive opportunities to interact in a welcoming, positive environment. |

MVISD provides families with a range of community and school resources, along with hands-on training sessions across campuses, to keep families connected to their child’s academic progress. Caregivers also have personal extended learning opportunities. |

#6 Evaluate Family Engagement Efforts and Use Evaluations for Continuous Improvement |
MVISD utilizes evaluations and surveys to seek input for the purpose of enhancing the quality of instruction, school climate, and family engagement. |

Transition Activities: ● Meet the Teacher Event- This welcoming event allows families and students to tour their new school, explore classrooms, and connect with their teachers. ● Kinder Roundup: an exciting event for incoming kindergarten students and their families to get a head start on the school year! Families can tour the campus, meet kindergarten teachers, learn about the curriculum, and complete necessary registration. This event helps new students feel comfortable in their new environment and prepares families for a successful start to kindergarten. |
Linguistic and Culturally Inclusive Practices: ● Ensure the Human Resources department routinely implements linguistically and culturally inclusive hiring practices. ● Use culturally relevant materials in classrooms and for homework sent to families based on primary language instruction. ● Use home languages for all communications sent to families ● Multicultural Nights held at Elementary Campuses Conclusion: The MVISD HQPK Family Engagement Plan is a key strategy guiding our district toward collaborative success.
