Dear MVISD Family,

Congratulations on a fantastic first week of school.  I appreciate your dedication to ensuring that our students receive the very best education and care.

We have updated our covid protocols to include sending letters to parents and staff when we have a lab-confirmed positive case on a campus.  The letter reminds recipients that quarantining is not required for close contact, and also the covid related symptoms to monitor for.  Additionally, we provide information on three sites that provide rapid testing for covid should anyone want to be tested or have their child tested.

Our students in athletics, band, cheer, dance, and a myriad of other activities are back in action.  I encourage you to attend a game or a performance and cheer on our students.  I know that they enjoy seeing staff at their events.  Have a great week!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 17, and I’m looking forward to seeing all of our students return for a new school year. Please know that we are taking precautions to help guard against the spread of covid in our schools. Protocols were sent to parents this past Friday. They are also posted on our website. At this time, in accordance with Governor Abbott’s executive order GA-36, we are unable to require staff or students to wear masks. We will strongly encourage the wearing of masks, but they are not required.

I am excited to be opening our fifth elementary school, Ladera Elementary, this year. That campus is located in the Ladera subdivision on West Grosenbacher Road, just off of State Hwy 211.  Our staff are eager to welcome students back for what I know is going to be an outstanding year at Medina Valley ISD.

See you on the 17th!
