Our Promise to this Community:

The Medina Valley ISD Police Department wants to assure our families, staff, and community that the safety and security of our students and employees remains our top priority. In today’s fast-changing world—especially as our community continues to grow—this responsibility requires constant focus and adaptability. To meet this challenge, we regularly review, evaluate, and update our safety protocols to ensure they address current needs and emerging concerns.

As part of our commitment to campus safety, we have added multiple layers of security across all MVISD schools and facilities. Vestibule entrances leading into the main offices will remain locked at all times, and visitors will only be admitted into secure office areas by a staff member. In addition, all exterior doors will remain locked throughout the school day. We are also enhancing safety through the installation of security gates, perimeter fencing, upgraded camera systems, and other initiatives designed to strengthen our security measures.

Equally important is preparing our staff to respond effectively in an emergency. All MVISD staff receive training in emergency response protocols, including “Stop the Bleed,” and each campus has a designated Crisis Response Team (CRT) to guide actions during critical incidents. MVISD follows the Standard Response Protocols developed by the Texas State School Safety Center and the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, ensuring our response aligns with best practices across the state.

Above all, our strongest safety measure is vigilance. If you see or hear something concerning—whether online or in person—we urge you to report it immediately to the proper authorities. Together, we share the responsibility for keeping our schools and community safe.

If you ever have concerns, need assistance, or would like more information about our safety efforts, please do not hesitate to contact the MVISD Police Department.

Cyber Safety and Digital Responsibility: A Parents Guide

Keeping our kids safe and secure is something we should all collaborate to accomplish, and we should all  have in common. With the advancements in technology and the speed of life, the internet has become a blessing and a curse. With that said, the Medina Valley ISD Department of Safety and Security would like to provide you with resources to help navigate some of the issues you may face with your child regarding cyber safety in an ever-evolving digital world.

The Texas State School Safety Center realizes this as well, and has partnered with Safer Schools Together to provide parents with some insights on cyber security and digital safety with a training video: Cyber Safety and Digital Responsibility: A Parent's Guide.  This 90 minute video provides some details on both the positive and negative ways youth are using, and may be misusing, technology and social media. This information can help inform and empower parents to engage in productive and useful conversations with their kids on how to safely navigate the challenges in our digital world.
