Superintendent
Dr. Scott Caloss has served as Superintendent of Medina Valley Independent School District since 2022, leading one of the fastest-growing school districts in the region through a period of historic growth, long-range planning, and transformational initiatives. Under his leadership, MVISD has advanced major construction projects, strengthened safety, and expanded family engagement efforts to support a rapidly growing and evolving community.
Since joining MVISD, Dr. Caloss has guided the district through unprecedented expansion, including the successful passage of voter-approved bond elections in 2023 and 2024 to support new schools, safety enhancements, and infrastructure needs. During his tenure, the district has opened Silos Elementary, broke ground on Creek View High School (opening Fall 2026), and broke ground on Middle School #3 (opening Fall 2027), while continuing proactive planning for future campuses to meet rapid enrollment growth.
Under Dr. Caloss’s leadership, Medina Valley ISD has also received statewide recognition as a finalist for the 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards, reflecting the district’s strong instructional practices, leadership, and commitment to student success.
A major focus of Dr. Caloss’s leadership has been strengthening safety and security across the district. Under his direction, Medina Valley ISD established its own Police Department, enhancing campus safety. This initiative reflects a long-term commitment to proactive safety planning and maintaining secure learning environments.
Dr. Caloss has also prioritized family engagement and accessibility. During his time with the district, MVISD launched bilingual hub campuses designed to better support English language learners and their families, while supporting Medina Valley ISD's growing diverse community. These hubs help bridge language barriers, increase family participation, and strengthen partnerships between schools and the community.
Prior to joining Medina Valley ISD, Dr. Caloss served as superintendent in other Texas school districts and held leadership roles as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach. He is currently in his 14th year as a superintendent and 34th year in public education.
Committed to student success, Dr. Caloss continues to prioritize high-quality educational opportunities for every learner while leading Medina Valley ISD through responsible growth, innovation, and community-centered leadership.
