Information for Parents & Guardians
Routes, bus stop times & locations, and attendance zones are subject to change at any time.
Eligibility:
- Bus route assignments are based on the student’s current home address, as verified in the Skyward Family Access system.
- Address changes must be made in person at the student's school campus. Proof of residence is required. (Address changes cannot be made by the Transportation Department.)
- Students who reside more than two miles from their assigned campuses, as per designated attendance zones, are eligible for transportation.

- Students who attend a campus under an “approved transfer” are not eligible for transportation services.
Registration:

The 2026-2027 registration forms are now located on Skyward Family Access:
- Log in to Skyward and select Family Access using the dropdown next to the hone icon (top left).
- Locate the "26-27 Bus Registration Form" under your child's name.
- Complete form for each student in its entirely.
- Click Submit.
- Transportation registration is required every school year, for both new and returning students.
- Registration is not a guarantee of transportation services. Students will be routed in the order that their registration was received.
- After registering, download the My Ride K-12 app, which is available at Google Play and the App Store.

My Ride K-12:
- Once registered, keep an eye on the My Ride K-12 app for access to bus numbers, stop times & locations, bus delay notifications, route changes, and other important information.
- Using the onboard card reader, students will scan their IDs as they board and exit the bus.
- Timestamped scans will be viewable by the primary My Ride K-12 user.
- Using the app, the primary user may “share” access with additional users.
Ridership:
- While on a bus or at a designated bus stop, students must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct, the Student Transportation Rules & Regulations*, and the Bus Safety Diagram**.
- Secondary students must present their student ID card to board the bus. In the afternoon students who do not present their student ID card will not be allowed to board the bus.
- Nonadherence may result in corrective action, up to and including bus and/or school suspension.
- Seating is assigned by the Transportation Department, and may be changed at any time.
- To accommodate as many riders as possible, some students will be placed three-to-a-seat.
- Seatbelts on equipped buses shall be worn.
- For the safety and security of riders, most MVISD buses are equipped with cameras.
