High School Attendance Zones - 2026-2027
In preparation for the opening of the campus, we have finalized high school attendance zones that will go into effect beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Under the new high school attendance zones:
- Students that live in the Loma Alta Middle School attendance zone will also be zoned to Creek View High School.
- Students that live in the Medina Valley Middle School attendance zone will also be zoned to Medina Valley High School.
To clarify, all students will remain at Medina Valley High School for the 2025–2026 school year. Our High School attendance zones will not go into effect until the following school year, 2026-2027.
When Creek View High School opens, it will welcome students in grades 9, 10, and 11, and it will offer a full range of academic and extracurricular programs—including UIL varsity athletics, fine arts, and more. The Class of 2027 will complete their senior year at Medina Valley High School, and transportation will be provided for those students.
We also understand that some students may wish to remain at Medina Valley High School due to their involvement in academic programs, extracurricular activities, or other special circumstances. In situations like these, when a new high school opens students may be eligible for a one-time “grandfather request” that allows them to stay at their current campus—even if they are rezoned. If your child qualifies, we’ll reach out to you directly with details on how to apply and what to expect.
Thank you for your continued support as we grow together and prepare for this exciting new chapter for MVISD.

While we are eager to welcome students to CVHS, MVISD understands that some may wish to remain at Medina Valley High School due to their involvement in certain academic programs, extracurricular activities, or other special circumstances. In these cases, students may be eligible for a Grandfather Request that allows them to stay at MVHS for the remainder of their high school career even if they are zoned to CVHS. Below you will find the grandfather request eligibility requirements, which were established after a thorough review of enrollment projections and research of what comparable districts have implemented when opening a second high school.
Grandfather Request Eligibility
Academics & Co-Curricular
- Programs of study not offered at CVHS (e.g., FFA/Agricultural Science, which will only be at MVHS).
Athletics
- Students who earned a varsity letter during the 2025–2026 school year.
Fine Arts
- Students who earned a varsity letter in the 2025–2026 school year.
Sibling Transfers
Because Creek View High School will not have a senior class in 2026–2027, all seniors (Class of 2027) will remain at MVHS. To help families with students in multiple grade levels, siblings of seniors will be eligible for a one-year transfer to remain at MVHS if desired. To request a transfer, you can also login to Skyward Family Access and complete the Grandfather Request/Transfer Form. Again, you will see this tile available on your home screen when you login to Skyward Family Access, and we ask that you please complete the form by September 19. It’s important to note that students that apply for either a grandfather request or one-year transfer, must provide their own transportation.
This is an exciting time for our district and community. Whether you will be part of the first Creek View Cougar classes or continue your journey as a Panther at Medina Valley High School, you are an important part of MVISD’s future. Please know that we are here to support you and your family throughout this transition.
