Curriculum and Instruction Department

The Medina Valley ISD Curriculum and Instruction Department strives to provide an equitable and continuous learning experience reflecting high expectations that actively engage each student in meaningful, lifelong learning. The department provides teachers and administrators access to information and  resources that support rich and rigorous instruction aligned to state standards.

In our schools, students are exposed to rigorous learning opportunities and curricula that transcend state and national standards. We employ master teachers as curriculum writers. These curriculum coordinators work with teams of teachers every day to build engaging and personalized lessons for students. Whether students work in teams or individually, every minute in the classroom is purposeful.

Goals

  1. Provide guidance and support at the district & school level relative to curriculum, delivery of support services, interpretation of compliance/policy requirements, and best practices.

  2. Increase awareness and knowledge in current research and best practices at the national and state level, in order to strengthen workforce capacity and foster high yield results.

  3. Monitor the fidelity of implementation and compliance with local/state/federal requirements.

  4. Stratify assistance and support services to schools based on levels of student achievement.
