MVISD Alumni Spotlight: Meet two Medina Valley HS alumnae Lynsie Crow and her daughter, Kyla Solis, who followed in her mom’s footsteps as a volleyball player and now as a nurse working alongside her mom at Methodist Children’s Hospital.
A 1997 MVHS graduate, Lynsie Crow was a three-sport athlete at MVHS who went on to play college volleyball before earning her nursing degree from San Antonio College. After 26 years at Methodist Children’s Hospital, she now serves as a Pediatric Registered Nurse focused on patient experience.
Kyla, a 2021 MVHS graduate, played four years of varsity volleyball at MVHS before continuing her volleyball career at Clemson University and the University of North Florida. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health science and later completed her BSN at UT Health San Antonio.
Kyla joined Methodist Children’s Hospital in 2025 as a Patient Care Technician while attending nursing school and last month became a registered nurse. Today, she works in the PICU where she cares for critically ill pediatric patients and says “she finds purpose in helping children.”
Her mom, Lynsie says she loves working with her daughter and “getting to share our careers makes it even more special.”
From sharing their love of volleyball to now caring for children side by side, Lynsie and Kyla’s journey is a true full-circle moment.
