On April 1, 2026, the Medina Valley Independent School District Board of Trustees selected and named Mrs. Emily Lorenz as the Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent of Schools for the District.
Mrs. Lorenz currently serves as Superintendent of Calallen ISD, a role she has held since 2022. She brings extensive experience in educational leadership, having previously served as Assistant Superintendent and Director of Curriculum, as well as an Educational Specialist at Region 20. Throughout her career, she has led work in curriculum and instruction, personnel, and district operations, with a strong focus on student success and organizational excellence.
Mrs. Lorenz shared the following statement:
“I am both honored and humbled to be named the lone finalist for Superintendent of Medina Valley Independent School District. I am truly excited for the opportunity to serve and support the students, staff, and community of this exceptional district.
With a strong focus on student growth and a servant’s heart, I am committed to creating opportunities, fostering success, and continuing to move the district forward. I am deeply grateful to the Medina Valley ISD Board of Trustees for their trust and confidence in me. Their dedication to the district and to student success is truly inspiring.
I look forward to working collaboratively with staff, parents, and the community to ensure we are providing the highest quality education for all students. Together, we will build upon the district’s many strengths while embracing opportunities for growth and innovation.
With a shared vision and a strategic focus on what matters most—our students and their futures—I am confident we will accomplish great things together.”
By law, the Board may not hire the new Superintendent for at least 21 days following the public notice that was given by the Board’s motion. The Board anticipates taking action to officially hire Mrs. Lorenz at the April Regular Board Meeting.
