District updates and holiday greetings from Superintendent Dr. Caloss Superintendent video Show Transcript hello Medina Valley ISD superintendent Scott Kalos here and as we finish out the end of the first half of our school year I'm here to provide you some information of some things happening in and around your school district I'm incredibly proud of our students and staff across academics Fine Arts Athletics and extracurricular programs we've seen outstanding accomplishments that reflect the hard work dedication and Excellence that defines Medina ISD at the heart of our district is our teachers I would like to congratulate our district and campus teachers of the year for 2025 2026 these Educators exemplify dedication Innovation and commit and they make a lasting impact on students every day congratulations to our Elementary District teacher of the year Pamela Flores from petronko elementary and our secondary District teacher of the year Riley Jones from Loma Alta Middle School I also want to thank our families for participating in our parent surveys your feedback helps guide our decisions as we continue to strengthen our schools if you haven't already yet participated surveys closed December 19th and can be accessed through parent square or the text message sent to families your voice truly matters our academic calendar for next school year has been approved we work to finalize the calendar early so families and staff have time to plan ahead it is available on the district website and we encourage families to review it because attendance matters enrollment at Medina Valley ISD continue used to grow with our district now surpassing 10,500 students as our community expands our teams continue working on bond projects to ensure we are prepared to meet the needs of our current and future students and Families 1 of our most exciting projects Creek View High School remains on schedule and is on track to open next school year we have begun Staffing the campus to ensure a strong start from day 1 the new a and JROTC building at Edina Valley High School is also on track to open next school year construction continues on Middle School Number 3 which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027 we wish you and your family a very happy holiday season and we look forward to having everybody back to kick off a wonderful 2026 Print
