A Message from District Leadership district message Show Transcript hi I'm Scott KS superintendent of schools I'm here with some of our district leaders to provide you some important District updates first I want to provide and enrollment update Medina Valley ISD continues to experience fast growth with more families choosing to make our community their home we end up last school year with a little over 9,800 students and as of October we now I have around 1040 students as we continue to grow we remain committed to keeping our focus on what matters most supporting our students I'm proud to share that our bond projects are moving along on schedule construction at Creek View High School is taking shape each day and we remain on track to welcome students for the 2627 school year it is truly incredible to see this campus come to life a place that will soon be filled with learning laughter and New Traditions our new a and ROTC building is also making wonderful progress at Medina Valley high school and we couldn't be more excited about the Hands-On opportunities it will provide for students to explore leadership career Pathways and Real World skills this facility is also set to open next school year meanwhile work is underway on Middle School Number 3 which is set to open in 2027 helping us provide space for continued growth and ensuring that every student has room to learn and Thrive and finally we are beginning the design phase of Elementary number 7 another exciting step toward meeting the needs of our rapidly growing community and welcoming even more Young Learners into the mvisd family each of these projects represents more than just buildings they are investments and opportunity and Innovation and the bright future of our students we are deeply grateful for the ongoing support of our community as we continue to build spaces where greatness truly grows I'm thrilled to share some academic highlights as we head into the fall break for the first time ever we have a pilot group of fifth graders whose scores qualified them to begin taking 6th grade math online this double acceleration pathway will allow them to take Algebra 1 as seventh graders next year we're incredibly excited for this cohort of students and their remarkable progress we are also proud to celebrate our outstanding students recognizing by the National Merit Scholarship program Alexander Adams has been named a National Merit semi-finalist placing him among the top academic performers Nationwide in addition Melvin Oliver has earned recognition as a national Merit commended student for his exceptional academic promise these honors represent tremendous accomplishments and reflect the hard work dedication and Excellence of our high school students at Medina Valley High School students are thriving driving in dual credit and AP courses embracing rigorous academic challenges that prepare them for Success beyond graduation through these Advanced opportunities students are earning college credit strengthening their critical thinking and problem Ving skills and developing the confidence needed to excel in the higher education these programs not only give students a head start on their college Journey but also reflect our District's commitment to expanding access to Advanced learning experiences for all learners we look forward to welcoming everybody back on Monday October the 20th have a great break and we look forward to seeing you real soon Print
