Medina Valley ISD sports will be classified as 6A in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) for the 2024-26 seasons.
District alignments were released February 1 to coaches at the UIL biennial realignment meetings held across the state. MVISD’s reclassification was based on the high school’s enrollment numbers at the end of October 2023.
The district’s current enrollment is 8,682 and is expected to continue to climb to more than 15,600 students by 2032. The district is also building its second high school, which is expected to open fall 2026.
Under the 6A classification, the district will play Laredo United, Laredo United South, Laredo Alexander, Laredo Johnson, Del Rio and Eagle Pass high schools.
