Freshman Baseball Recaps 3/19, 3/23, 4/2

The Panthers traveled to Alamo Heights to go up against the Mules JV. Javi Gonzalez started on the mound. The Panthers had to have a strong offense and defense to pull this game out. It was a close game the whole way through. The Panthers were able however to secure a lead by 3 late in the 4th. Gonzalez took care of the rest on the mound. Leading the Panthers offensively were Javi Gonzalez going 2 for 2, DJ McCulley going 1-2, and Jake Herb going 2 for 3.

The freshman baseball team would travel to Floresville to take on the Tigers in a double header. The Panthers showed off their strong offensive attack in both of the games. The Panthers took the first game 11-0 with Thomas Pardo pitching a complete game, only allowing 2 hits and striking out 11. The second game was a similar picture with the Panthers swinging the bat well and Nick Rash pitching a complete game. The Panthers would win the second game 11-3.

The Central Catholic Buttons came to MV on Tuesday for a match up against the Freshman Panther baseball team. Javi Gonzalez was the starting pitcher and the only pitcher the Panthers would need all game. Gonzalez only allowed 1 run and 4 hits the whole game. Offensively the Panthers were lead by DJ McCulley and Jake Herb would both recorded two hits each along with 2 RBIs each. Gonzalez would finish out strong and secure a Panthers 6-1 victory over the Buttons.
