FAFSA Requirement (Financial Aid Information for Seniors)
The Texas Education Agency implemented House Bill 3 which states that students enrolled in 12th grade during the 2021-2022 school year, must do one of the following in order to graduate:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
- Submit a signed opt-out form
Filing a FAFSA is an option but it is the single most important thing you can do to get money for college. It's the gateway to more than $150 billion in college grants, work-study funds, college scholarships, federal student loans, as well as certain state-based aid. Many colleges will require a completed FAFSA application before awarding a scholarship.
Below is a link on how to complete the FAFSA process:

Counselors will be meeting with seniors April 12, 13 and 18 to discuss which of the three FAFSA options they have chosen.
