Research Interests
I have broad interests in using numeracy to increase students ability and aptitude towards mathematics. Specifically, I believe that students who increase their “basic” math skills will be better students at the secondary level. This is inclusive of skill drills. For example, solving linear equation, performing operations with fractions,... basic foundation level skills.
Current Research
I am continuing my exploration in numeracy at the secondary level. I had the privilege of doing my research in my own classroom, and now I want to expand the research to the campus level. I was able to show statistically that students numeracy levels increased, although I was very close to showing that it was reflected in overall classroom performance. My goal is to show an increase in student scores and aptitude towards mathematics.
