Department Staff

About Us

  • At Medina Valley, Special Programs expand the capacity of schools to respond to the educational needs of ALL students. The major purpose of the Department is to facilitate academic and social emotional learning of MVISD students by providing support and resources to our schools and families in order to create environmental conditions in our schools that are most conducive to the growth and learning of children with special needs. The particular role of the Special Programs Department is to identify children with unique needs and to aid in the effective fulfillment of those needs. Both regular and special school programs play a role in meeting the educational needs of children with exceptionalities. All our special educators aspire to see every child as a unique composite of potentials, abilities, and learning needs for whom an educational program must be designed to meet his or her particular needs.
