Paula Davidson was elected to serve as a Medina Valley ISD Board of Trustees At-Large member in November 2020 election. Paula was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, where she graduated in 1991 from Harlingen High School. She went on to pursue a BA in English and Communications with a Teacher Certification from Texas A&M- Kingsville, and taught 15 years, five of which at the MVISD Middle School. During this time, she served as the English Department Head and was awarded Teacher of the Year for the Middle School Campus. She was called to lead a life of service when her father was admitted to the Burn ICU at Brooke Army Medical Center, and carries his legacy today in volunteering for many organizations such as Texas Burn Survivor Society and the American Red Cross. She also volunteers with several MVISD organizations such as the La Coste PTO, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Golf Tournament and the Prom Committee to help raise funds for students in the District. Paula and her husband have 3 children, a son who graduated in 2019 from Medina Valley High School, a daughter who will graduate in 2021, and a 5th grader at La Coste Elementary. She is the Vice-President and owns and operates Tartan Construction and is the Volunteer Coordinator and Lead Red Cross Volunteer for the Burn Intensive Care Unit at BAMC. Her hobbies include volunteering, shopping and socializing with friends. As a member of this Board, her goals are to work together as a team to make sure that the students and staff of this District are supported, and that each child has every chance and tool they need to succeed.
