Mario De Leon

Mr. De Leon has served on the Medina Valley ISD School Board since he was first elected in May of 2017. He is one of 8 children born to Enrique and Ysabel De Leon and raised in District 5 of Medina Valley ISD. Mr. De Leon is a member of the 1974 graduating class of Medina Valley High School. He was elected and served as a LaCoste City Councilman from 1978–1981 and again from 2012-2015. Mario and his wife Rose (MV graduate) were married in the summer of 1984. They continued to reside in District 5 where they raised their two sons, also MVISD graduates, Mario Jr. and Andrew. Mario has been lifelong member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church located in LaCoste. In 2011 Mario retired from his position with the City of San Antonio giving him the opportunity to pursue areas he was passionate about, such as volunteering the High School Ag shop, volunteering at church and driving his friends and neighbors to their appointments. He also continues to love cooking, baking, BBQing, welding, fishing, and hosting family gatherings. Mario remains eagerly devoted to his position serving the MVISD community, students and staff as a Board Member.
