Matthew Castiglione

Mr. Matthew Castiglione was elected to the MVISD Board of Trustees to represent District 3 in May of 2022.  He was born and raised in Castroville and graduated as Salutatorian from Medina Valley in 1993.  Matt attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with cum laude honors in 1997.  Matt has been employed as an engineer in the Automotive Powertrain Division at Southwest Research Institute since January of 1998.   He is currently the Program Manager of Facilities with responsibility for facilities planning and infrastructure improvements for the division.  He also manages the maintenance of systems and equipment critical to laboratory operations. Matt is married to Jessica who is also an alumnus of Medina Valley.   They have two daughters who are also lifelong students at MVISD.  Their daughter Marin is a 2022 graduate, and their daughter Morgan just completed her freshman year at MVHS.  Matt has coached youth sports in the Medina Valley area for many years.  He has previously served on the board of directors for a statewide non-profit organization with a three-year term as board president.   He is proud to serve the Medina Valley Independent School District and give back to a school that has given him so much.
