Darren Calvert

Darren Calvert was elected to the board as an At-Large Representative in May of 2017. Mr. Calvert and his wife, Carrie, have lived in the district since 1999, and have a son (Jackson) who attends Loma Alta Middle School. As a native Texan, born and raised in a military family, Mr. Calvert is well acquainted with the values of service and dedication. Being raised in a family of public servants instilled in him a profound sense of patriotism and commitment to his community. During his extensive career in education, he has obtained a Master’s Degree in both education and administration from UT San Antonio and Lamar University respectively. Mr. Calvert has worked the entire gamut of public educational settings. He began in the classroom as a Teacher’s Assistant for two years, followed by six years as a middle school teacher, three years as a Behavior Specialist, and seven years as a school counselor.
