Colonel Glenn Larsen
Senior Aerospace Science Instructor
Colonel Glenn J. Larsen arrived as our Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) on July 16, 2007. Previously, he served as the SASI at Alice High School AFJROTC in Alice, Texas. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Social Science, and a Master of Business Administration/Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He retired from the United States Air Force active-duty after twenty-eight years of service. Moreover, for more than 28 years, Colonel Larsen has been an educator. He taught aerospace physiology, human factors, aircraft mishap investigation, as well as all aspects of primary and advanced flight training. Positions included Deputy Chairman, Department of Aerospace Physiology, USAF School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks AFB, and adjunct faculty for the National Aerial Firefighters Academy, University of Southern California Institute of Safety and Systems Management, USAF Flight Safety Officers School, and the Aircraft Mishap Investigation Course. In addition, Colonel Larsen led a training team to Turkey and assured the establishment of the most advanced Aerospace Physiological Training Program in South Asia. He has personally trained thousands of students from around the world both in the classroom setting and in the air. His flight ratings and qualifications include Command Pilot, Aerospace Physiologist, Parachutist, Airline Transport Pilot (multi-engine and single-engine land), and Advanced Ground Instructor. His past assignments include Command of a Flying Training Squadron, service as an Air Liaison Officer and Battlestaff Training Advisor with the U.S. Army, and various assignments as a higher headquarters staff officer, educator, and training program director. Colonel Larsen qualified as an Instructor Pilot in all four aircraft he flew while in the Air Force. They are the T-6A Texan II, T-37B Tweet, RF-4C Phantom, and T-41A/C Mescalero.

Chief Master Sergeant Lisa C. Rainey is a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio. She graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1972 and attended San Antonio College until Chief Rainey joined the Air Force in October 1973 as a Law Enforcement Specialist. Her first assignment was to Mather Air Force Base, California. Chief Rainey’s 30 year Air Force career took her to various stateside and oversea assignments which included U-Tapao Air Base Thailand, Torrejon Air Base, Spain, Fort Leavenworth, KS, Camp New Amsterdam. NL, Bergstrom AFB, TX, Lackland AFB, TX, McChord AFB, WA, and Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia. She started her career as an Airman Basic Installation Entry Controller and Patrol and was the Noncommissioned Officer In Charge of several security police programs such as Resources Protection, Quality Control and Reports and Analysis. As Chief Rainey rose in rank she assumed duties as Operations Superintendent, Security Forces Manager and Mission Support Superintendent. Chief Rainey was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant on 1 July 1996. Chief Rainey’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal and Outstanding Airman Ribbon. Her educational accomplishments include a Master of Arts in Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and Community College of the Air Force Associate Degrees in Police Science and Instructor in Technology. Chief Rainey retired from the Air Force in November 2003 and moved to Arlington Texas where she started her second career as an Air Force Junior ROTC Teacher with Texas 31st AFJROTC Wing at Arlington High School. On April 1, 2008, she assumed her present teaching position with Texas 20009th AFJROTC, Medina Valley High School, Castroville TX. She is married to Timothy Rainey, MSgt (Retired) and they have two sons, Marc and Jacob.
