One day a question was once asked to a class of high school students -- "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" One student answered -- "Fighting in the United States Marine Corp!" As he spread his legs in a familiar pose, he made machine gun noises while he blasted everyone away with an air M20. Needless to say he got his wish. |
| Soon after graduating he joined the Marines and went through Basic Training. He was then assigned to Iraq to help fight for the Iraqi citizens. Now, although his dream of fighting in the Marine Corp came true, it has ended. After encountering a sandstorm, the Blackhawk helicopter he was in went down over the Iraq airspace. |
| That student was Dain Rairdan. He was a guy who loved his friends and always had a quick sense of humor to make them all laugh. He had the spirit and drive to accomplish whatever he wanted. Dain was always pumped up and ready to go, whether it was for Drill Team Practice or to go on a Pancho's run, Dain was always full of life and energy. Dain loved the Blackhawks Drill Team, and loved to practice and compete, but he loved the fellowship and friends that he had on the team the most. Dain had great ambitions and wanted nothing more than to serve his country which he has done this to the highest degree a person can; by giving his life for his country. Thank you Dain, we will all dearly miss you. |
