CheerLeader Information

Cheer Calendar

The purpose of the cheerleaders is to promote school spirit and to support Medina Valley High School activities by attending games, decorating locker rooms, making banners, or making treat bags, etc.

The Medina Valley High Cheerleaders are composed of two squads, the junior varsity squad and the varsity squad. Membership is open to students who have demonstrated involvement in school activities by participating in some school organization or activity. Any transfer student trying out for MVHS cheerleader must meet the same requirements as all MVHS students. Any student wishing to be on the varsity squad must be able to perform a back handspring without a spotter. Each member must maintain a 75 GPA and pass all courses during a grading period

The cheerleaders are expected to display leadership qualities at all times. Certain standards are necessary for the integrity and reputation of any leading organization. Cheerleaders should be leaders within the school and the community and set a good example at all times. Cheerleaders are expected to maintain character above reproach. Cheerleaders must sign the Medina Valley High Cheerleader Honor Code. The code applies to the conduct of all cheerleaders on and off campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year.
