The purpose of the cheerleaders is to promote school spirit and to
support Medina Valley High School activities by attending games,
decorating locker rooms, making banners, or making treat bags, etc.
The Medina Valley High Cheerleaders are composed of two squads, the
junior varsity squad and the varsity squad. Membership is open to
students who have demonstrated involvement in school activities by
participating in some school organization or activity. Any transfer
student trying out for MVHS cheerleader must meet the same
requirements as all MVHS students. Any student wishing to be on the
varsity squad must be able to perform a back handspring without a
spotter. Each member must maintain a 75 GPA and pass all courses
during a grading period
The cheerleaders are expected to display
leadership qualities at all times. Certain standards are necessary
for the integrity and reputation of any leading organization.
Cheerleaders should be leaders within the school and the community
and set a good example at all times. Cheerleaders are expected to
maintain character above reproach. Cheerleaders must sign the Medina
Valley High Cheerleader Honor Code. The code applies to the conduct
of all cheerleaders on and off campus, 24 hours a day, seven days a
week, all year.
